Welcome to 3dtrees.com,
a 3d library of trees for 3d Studio artists. We created 3dtrees for those
who need that lush green setting and backdrop in an architectural model. The catalog
contains a variety of trees commonly used in new construction. Because many trees and shrubs are often needed to set up the ambience of an outdoor setting, we offer these memory conserving trees. Their opacity map design means that their face counts are low. This is very important if an artist starts cloning hundreds of plants in a scene. The texture and alpha maps are well crafted and produce wonderful detail of the foliage patterns. The maps are carefully photographed images of live trees. The masking clips tight to the leaves and branches and contain no distracting halos. The geometry is silhouetted so that both shadow map and ray trace shadows are possible. By distorting and scaling a variety of trees and shrubs can populate a scene. Since 3d Studio only loads a new set of maps for each new parent tree all of the clones can share those maps saving on memory and speeding rendering.
